I read on average 50 books a year, and am somewhat old school in my belief that empathy begins with exposing yourself to the lives and stories of other people. A healthy love of reading constantly expands my mind.
At Paysa and Kosmix, I worked with data scientists and mechanical learning. This has given me early exposure and application of artificial intelligence in the products I managed.
I have been building and managing teams before I ever worked in technology. Unlike many individuals that excelled in their job function and fell into people management, my management skills preceded any technical expertise I have acquired.
My background before technology included work in floral design, costume design, fashion design, and interior design. Physical objects, colors, and textures were foundational to my design education, and were applied seamlessly into my product roles. I frequently played the role of User Experience Designer in addition to Product Manager in most of my jobs.
